Da Da Ding | Nike Advertisement
Posted 8 years ago
NikeWomen just released an amazing ad that shows women who are leading sports figures. It features Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone, who prior to becoming a full-time actress, was a National Badminton player. The ad has a ‘raw look’ and shows women in a different light, breaking the convention that sports is an avenue only for men. The catchy pumping anthem ‘Da Da Ding’, of American rapper Gizzle that has been used as the background score, manages to get stuck in your head in the very first listen. It shows women across the spectrum of sports, such as Rani Rampal who was the youngest player on the Women’s national field hockey team, footballer Jyoti Ann Burrett and cricketers such as Harmanpreet Kaur, Shubhlakshmi Sharma and Smriti Mandana.
This advertisement concentrates solely on sports, and brings forth the point that Nike means business. It is fast and bursting with colours as the camera pans across women practicing various sports such as basketball, football, cricket, boxing, badminton, hockey and running.
This ad is a great start at bridging the gap between men and women in the sporting arena, and if nothing else, it will at least get the audience talking!
