Baba Sehgal in KFC's Digital Campaign | Chili Chizza | Sorry Pizza
Posted 8 years ago
He was a rage in the Indian rap circuit in the early 90s and boy is he back! After a brief hiatus, Baba Sehgal was recently seen screaming ‘Sorry Pizza’ in what looks like is KFC’s latest digital campaign. Baba Sehgal professes his love for ‘Chili Chizza’, KFC’s latest addition to their menu – a Pizza with no crust but with their original chicken as the base.
However, what we’re unsure of is why we don’t see KFC’s logo or any other sort of branding in the video if this is the brand’s latest campaign!
Known for his hilarious tweets and catchy rap songs, Baba Sehgal has been quite the source of entertainment for his fans. And this latest video has got everyone talking!
The video was released on the star’s YouTube channel, after which KFC uploaded the video on their channel too. Sehgal went further to amplify the video on social media by asking the audience to participate in the ‘ChizzaRapChallenge’. As part of the challenge, people had to upload a video of themselves rapping and imitating Baba Sehgal’s signature step from the original video.
The coming together of KFC & Baba Sehgal does make us wonder if this video was more for promoting the artist than the brand. The product doesn’t get much attention besides the Sehgal’s rap! Or maybe that was the idea to begin with. Subtly advertising is the way to go these days!
