Be it Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan admitting their dandruff for Head & Shoulders, or Madhuri Dixit's doctor husband recommending Aquaguard, or Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan swooning over their D-Décor bed sheets, their picture-perfect togetherness sells. These celebrated Bollywood couples endorse a whole host of products.
Bollywood couples in advertising is indeed a successful idea, otherwise brands would not be spending tons of money on them. But it also depends upon how brands use them in their ads. Using a star couple in advertisements can only be successful if the script and idea are good. The couple in question should also fit the brand philosophy.
For example, watching Kajol and Ajay Devgan giving laundry tips through a Whirlpool washing machine seems a bit far-reaching. It all depends on how well the pair is used, how good the celebrity is and how befitting the script is.
